I am certain, augmented reality will play an important role in our future lives, and I applaud Apple for trying to move the world forward.

However, anyone who has worn even light ski goggles knows, that covering your face easily becomes a sweaty, uncomfortable experience over time.

I know, Apple has implemented cooling and lowered the weight, but I still do not see myself placing a fish bowl over my head for an entire work day — no matter how many times Apple employees say "it's amazing!".

@randahl Remember when video games with stereo glasses was a fad? Neither do I. Remember when Microsoft made a billion dollar deal with the US military for their "Hololens" AR technology and the military had to scrap it because it didn't work and the soldiers got vertigo when using it? This is just another wave of this generally useless technology.

Tech corporations were pushing this AR thing long before smartphones were a thing, even first camera phones had something like that, I remember an AR game on Siemens CX65. Every decade they tell us that this technology will change the world and yet it never gets there. What looks simply amazing at some expo feels like a gimmick outside it. Especially at that price point!
Same with VR — it was there since the 90ies and it never managed to take off
