When I was a kid and that was when it was still Soviet Union, I always wondered where this DIY-mentality comes from. Everyone had something at home, like a homemade tool for peeling potatoes or, I think I still have this thing somewhere — a DIY power adapter with switchable current and voltage, it was huge and had a case handmade out of plexiglass. This thing even had LEDs!
And then I grew up and realized that mass-produced stuff was just bad🤣

@m0xee @DotardTed yeah. It was pretty much the same in Poland back in the day. But of course it was more of a necessity than a choice ;)
