I can't say anything about non-free software, I don't have any on my Linux boxes, but when free software breaks in #VoidLinux, it's really easy to fix with xbps-src: change the version in the template file, fix the checksum with a Void-supplied xgensum and rebuild, or, if there is a patch, put it in the corresponding dir, rebuild — done! Package templates are in git repo, so it's easy to rollback if anything goes wrong.

It's great that you share! I never do that and only fix stuff locally as I don't have a GitHub account, now that everyone is leaving, I'm not sure if I should have one.
@m0xee @safiuddinkhan I'll have e an account where ever its necessary to push a fix.
And honestly two factor Auth is not a reason to drop github.
