anyway... between having 8 cores at 1GHz+, 2GB RAM and a respectable 3D accelerator, i'm like "who left this tiny supercomputer on my desk?" especially since i got it for a bargain basement price.

admittedly not the "less than a tenner each" i paid for four more Android TV boxes... but this feels like the most stubborn of them, and it has been conquered! (not by me. all i did was yank out the right kernel and stick it underneath a Void rootfs ๐Ÿ˜Š )

Exactly my reaction to modern phones ๐Ÿคฃ
I've got this Chinese phone for like $200. It has eight cores, the most powerful one is clocked at 3.0 GHz, 8 Gb RAM and 256 Gb of UFS 3.1 storage. And I've put a 200 Gb class 10 SD card in it on top of that! And I was like: wow, I remember times when most desktop computers weren't powerful enough to run Quake and now I carry this thing in my pocket ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Follow

@millihertz I ran Droidian on it and Mesa builds in a little more than a couple of minutes! And I'm using all this computing power just to take cat photos and post stupid jokes on Fedi ๐Ÿ˜‚
