I can justify spending money on a high end DAC and Amp for a desktop but not for a mobile.
DACs for desktops are not that expensive same with Amps. But mobiles are a meme, if you already own a smartphone except android DACs suck usually.

@splitshockvirus @nerdtronics most smartphones don't even have a 3.5mm jack these days. So I can totally see why someone would buy a DAP/DAC 
iPhones used to have the best DAC on any smartphone ong fr. But then they got rid of it.

Original iPhones had Wolfson chips, then they've went the Cirrus Logic route. I no longer track it, since 4GS probably, but I'm pretty sure it's still like that. If they sound better, it's most probably all software.
