@safiuddinkhan@fosstodon.org Algorithm is the main selling point. Most don't know what to do once they get there. If it were lists/RSS feeds/whatever, you'd have to know what you want exactly. Here the algorithm tells you.
I don't need it and that's why I never cared to make a Twitter account, I bookmark the accounts I want to "follow" . This way I can also prioritize: this is interesting — I'll read it, this one — not so much, but if I'm procrastinating I may read it as well. I don't need unified timeline!

the idea was simply to minimize the volume of news articles to read. but, my point is that you can hypothetically make your own algorithm that assists you rather than targets you.
