The new workstations that mac tower are really meant for movie production and heavy 3D rendering. They can get upwards of $40k.
I was considering getting a mac mini since they are a lot more affordable but that was around the same time I got FOSS pilled and found out that WMs are great.
All modern computers and laptops are really just dogshit nowadays, you are better off just buying either an older computer or modern components and assembling it yourself.
I was also considering getting a 2011 Macbook for like $400 bones, but I opted for a Thinkpad X250.
Was also considering (unironically) a 2019 Macbook Pro, but opted for an X1 Extreme. And after owning both a Dell XPS and Lenovo X1, I can tell you as an absolute fact all computers are dogshit. It does not matter what software you run they are just shit.
Never spend a cent on '11 MBP! Hardware is ok on paper, but there were complaints about faulty GPUs since launch. I had no issues. Then in 3y or so Apple acknowledges the problem and starts a replacement program. I don't care as mine works fine. When the program ends in 2 months GPU in mine dies!🤬 No more external display, but it worked with iGPU. And in a couple of months my then-girlfriend fucked it up beyond repair somehow. I just cracked it open, took out RAM and SSD and put it on the shelf.
