Folders are just an idiom for representing hierarchies, hierarchies are definitely not the best way to arrange images, audio or video. Tags will probably do a better job. E.g. you have photos of cats and photos of frogs, if you have both on the same photo, you can have both tags. You can imitate it with links/search folders/whatever, but all in all they just do not seem to be the right tool for the stuff you usually have on a phone.
