People who love using AI to code are absolutely losing their minds when AI-generated code is labelled so consumers can make a choice. What's hilarious is how they label this as "politics" because it doesn't align with their desires. If AI generated code is so great, why would anyone be afraid of it being labelled?

As you all know, I'm a big fan of a good "AI sucks" argument but—no shade on Nolan intended here, I see where he’s coming from—I don't think this is it. At least, not for Hollywood

"AI" has hit a bunch of sectors pretty hard, but movie and sound currently have more problems than just new tech

The collapse of US media is more down to financial looting (e.g. scrapping movies for tax purposes), studio self-immolation, and shitty streamer economics than "AI"

I mean I'll tell you what happened - you had a great slate of exciting primary candidates who promised to do socialism and put nazis in jail, and then as soon as that happened the DNC/Third Way/Erza Klein shit all over it and started screaming about the DSA till those candidates started walking BACK their positions because the RAPIDLY VANISHING center demanded it. Now voter enthusiasim which was high, has tanked and that's why all your polls show the GOP gaining ground.

The magical thing about the current moment is people can write 3,000 word essays on how AI is changing software development and just plop “I’ve never written any code btw” in the middle of it and carry on regardless without any shame or self-doubt.

Like, I don’t rock up to an oncology conference and start telling them about helping patients through chemo, but maybe I would if I had the unearned self-confidence of a digital transformation consultant with a $20/mo ChatGPT account.
