The part that is the most insulting, looking over this, is that there is not a single new idea, insight or engineering process in it. Every time there's an accidental code dump from some centibillion-dollar oligslopolist valley techcorp's newest bauble, announced by somebody cosplaying Steve Jobs and braying innovation innovation innovation, you crack it open and it's linux and some black-box model wrapped in cron jobs, shell scripts and reams of human text begging it to act right.

We’re going to have to explain to our grandchildren that once upon a time we put heroic efforts - research, engineering and practice - into making machines that could tell us yes or no, that when we told the machines yes, the yes would be unambiguous and that when we told it no, the no was certain. And then - once the machine could speak back to us in something like our own voices, once it learned to wear our faces and flatter the worst and most venal of all of us - we threw all that away.

Co-op ask: looking for examples to share about co-ops that have turned to their members to invest additional funds into the co-op in times of financial distress.

I have some examples of co-ops that have NOT done this of course… but would love more case studies to draw from that showcase co-ops leaning on their members in tough times.

Once the platform is deployed, coop cloud deployments for local communities will be able to campaign for funding from the DTF!
