The models have eaten tons of "enterprise best practices" that of course were meant for a different enterprise and never actually used but made up by some dude trying to score on StackOverflow. So the answer to your question is: Yes, but worse.

I have to work with slop-coders for a project and I have to ask: is it an “agent” tick to rewrite node projects to run all tests in docker? So instead of running the project in the node everybody has set up, it rewrites it to run in node wrapped up in a docker image with tons of weird and unnecessary cruft.

Trying not to be annoyed at the unnecessary complexity and absolute garbage docs they keep adding (the project is already fully documented)

A new team gets started with 'AI native'. They are given 'agents and prompts', and spend most of their 1st hackathon day struggling with one skill that depends on jira access and debugging it. Then they copy the jira ticket to a file, generating a plan. The plan is bad so they generate a plan they like by writing what they really want down.

There is so much theater around AI adoption.

That's what I loved about the forums and blogs of the old web. Things were spread out and separate. Every forum wasn't connected to every other forum, sharing a single pool of users and posts. So you could post about one topic in one forum with one group of friends, and then go post about other things in another forum with a different group of friends, and those two groups would never interact.

The Internet was supposed to connect people from all over the world, and maybe it still does for those who are willing to compromise their beliefs and give up their privacy and other rights, but for people like me, who at least try to be true to what we believe is right, the Internet is increasingly being closed off. We are being isolated and pushed to the fringe even more than we already were as the weird penguin-platypuses of the world. And I worry that it's very much on purpose.

Have been instructed to hammer them so that the person who bought them into the company will like our department more.
