Having Opinions about specific versions of LLMs feels a lot like Knowing Your IQ. Like, I understand that you believe it's important, but it's telling me much more about you than you think it is, and not in any kind of good way

I have a question for linguists, teachers of English, language nerds.

In my first language (Croatian) copulative verbs (such as "to be" or "to become") reset the case of what follows to nominative.

"To sam ja" - "It is me", literally "It is I". It is not like that in English, and it is an ongoing joke in "'Allo 'Allo!". Guess it is a direct translation of French. I do not know any French.

Why are the pronouns (because English has no cases for nouns left except genitive) following copulative verbs in English in the objective case?

Bonus question: subject in a sentence is supposed to be in nominative case. "I am going to school." But "Me and you are going to school.", "You and I are going to school." Which of these are even correct?

they aren't. where they somehow work, they are at best adequate. and it's never done with accessibility as a main goal, usually just something half made-up to make the detractors shut up.

now imagine what we could have, if a promille of a promille, one-hundred-thousandth of the money put into the autoconfabulators was spent on fucking actually developing accessibility tools.

Background: I want to make an Interrail map which, among other things, shows where you can go without mandatory reservations.

I know there's a bunch of #autism / #adhd / neurospicy people on here: anyone have any experience of Auditory Processing Disorder? It's becoming more obvious to me that I'm finding it hard to understand people, particularly in busy environments or when they speak quickly, but I'm aceing all the standard hearing tests so I'm starting to wonder if I have APD. I know there's overlap between neurodivergence and APD, and while I'm not diagnosed with anything it wouldn't surprise me. OTOH it has only started becoming a problem the past few years. Any adjustments which worked for you, experiences getting diagnosed etc., would be helpful to hear. (Ha, ha)
