If you care about a livable future for humanity on this planet, don’t use AI. Just don’t. Not for shopping, condensing literature to shortcut reading or for writing your homework, not for anything so trivial. The small amount of special use cases is enough.
I’ve got very little patience for software engineering “professionals” coming into this thread to pretend that LLMs are good at finding bugs, as if we’re not in the same profession and I haven’t been forced to use the fucking things
all research not funded directly by AI corporations shows they’re fucking terrible at finding bugs and introduce many more than they fix, and that’s in line with personal experience
the machine will constantly gaslight you into thinking your code is riddled with bugs and it’s fixing them, and by pure luck it might even be right! you’re very likely to remember the times it’s right more than the times it absolutely fucks it
it also really, really wants your code to be a formless blob, and the thing’s output will get hilariously manipulative if you push back on it at all, as you would with a person reviewing your code. and people using an LLM to review your code will get real shitty with you too, cause the machine said you’re wrong.
@mcv @mhpotter Effective Altruism was initiated by Eliezer Yudkowsky. That "field" is burned. You do not enter the playing field and position yourself as the good ones in that field.
It's like saying, well, Hitler did a lot of harm to the idea of Nazism, but I can turn the ship around and be one of the "good Nazis" steering the Nazi ideology into a proper direction.

Things Trump has done that military families didnt feel was disqualifying:
Started a coup
Convicted of rape
Prolific in the #EpsteinFiles
Held Epstein Files back illegally
Stole classified docs
Kidnapped a president
Built concentration camps
#ICE killing citizens
Protecting ICE to kill more citizens
Deporting people to third world countries
Forcing children to defend themselves in court
....
In my opinion its a waste of time and effort wondering such things

"If the rich don't get more money, they will have no incentive to continue to be productive. But if the poor do get more money, they will have no incentive to continue to be productive."
This isn't economics or psychology. It's hypocrisy. It's predation.
It's class warfare.

P.S. The album artwork is not AI. It’s Andy Lefton’s established style he has been developing for many years. In the last few years, though, people on forums like Reddit, often completely unfamiliar with his work, have accused him of making AI art.
Ethics aside, we can clearly no longer deny the utility of necromancy. Perhaps a year ago, when the pathetic shambling of the animated dead so often made a hollow mockery of our arts. But now! Incantations that once took weeks of toil can be wrested from their tormented souls in mere minutes!
Without the awesome power of the newly dead coursing through our veins, how are we to solve the great problems of our age, like the mysterious disappearance of so many of our elderly and sick friends, or the festering piles of rotten flesh that now clog our streets and homes?
If you still have qualms about using the large soul providers, you can always obtain your own local, free range specimens, although of course they won’t obey quite as faithfully as ones from the leading charnel houses.
Honestly, do you want to be left behind?
