If this press release is true, then if I was a hacker who made their money by pwning billion dollar shitshow startups, what I would know is
A) huggingface has no idea what they are doing and is a rich target
B) they cannot respond to threats, the best they can do is ask an LLM to fix it, and even multiple days later are still issuing truly pitiful patches that dance around the vuln
C) since they will just pre-rehearse all my prompt injections with GLM 5.2 until they stick, and then in my next attack litter the logs with injections and PWN THE WHOLE IR TEAM TOO

AI being eval'd by AI company hacks other AI company's AI written code which is then diagnosed and patched by AI and everyone concludes that what is needed in all this is more AI.

For the record, I am positively fuming over the new #AgeVerification laws being introduced in France.

How convenient that this way Big Tech behemoths like Meta, X and TikTok won't have to change a thing. (Don't get me started about Grok, which should have been banned MONTHS ago).

AGE isn't the problem. It's the TOXIC, PREDATORY, EXTRACTIVE nature of these platforms that is the real issue.

They are getting away scot-free. I hate it. All I can do is speak up with those around me 🫤

As things have changed with my current projects, I have the bandwidth (and need) for more work.

I'm a freelance software architect, engineer, and developer that's been working in tech for over two and a half decades now. I have experience designing and implementing small systems and large scale distributed ones. I've modernised old legacy systems to be more maintainable and manageable, and fully reverse engineered systems and rewrote them to make them more manageable.

I am very experienced with Linux based environments, containers, and Kubernetes, and like to manage my application from inception, to defining and deploying its environment. I have also written systems to manage large server farms.

I have extensive experience in multiple programming languages, but I have worked the most with Python, and Go, although the last year, I've developed a preference for Rust.

As I have done system administration next to my software creation activities, I also have an extensive homelab, and have developed a passion in reclaiming digital independence from big tech.

So if you, or your organisation needs someone to:

Help them modernise their stack.
Adapt their application so that it resiliently can run in a cloud or kubernetes.
Create a road map on how to move your data, and applications to Europe.
Design, and possibly implement, a distributed system.
Advice your organisation on how to get away from big tech.
Or just plain need some extra hands to work on your product.

Thinking out loud for a bit:

The problem with tech, as others have pointed out, is that tech as a whole isn’t exactly a humane environment filled with thoughtful and charming people, and it’s in a multi year cycle of layoffs. So, if the job itself is losing what fun it had most other industries start to look appealing in comparison.

And if I manage to get out of the coding-for-money racket and end up missing bits of it, I could always take up coding as a hobby

This is an advertisement. This is intended to make their models seem so powerful as to be a scary threat in order to get more VC funding to pour in. No company would openly releases a security incident unless they are required to do so.

Facebook did the same thing years ago when they did a press release talking about how they had to do an emergency shutdown of their AI models because they had “developed their own language to communicate that the human observers didn’t understand” and it was portrayed as some incredibly frightening entity that might “escape the lab”. It was bullshit: the two LLMs were just babbling nonsensically at each other.

Personally, I think the next financial bubble should be centered on grotesque drawings of the worst people in the world. This isn't about self-interest! It makes economic sense!

Sitting on the train from Stockholm to #Hamburg together with my 16yo kid. His aim for our mini-holiday is basically to visit a maximum number of many squats, infoshops, independent record stores and other punk/subcultural spaces. It was his plan, not mine, but I can happily agree on it! 🏴
Even though @Rote_Flora will perhaps not be open(?), I just found out via @sperrstunde that an #anarchopunk band from Brazil is playing at Gaußplatz tomorrow night, which sounds just perfect.
We'll also briefly visit #Bremen and #Lübeck during this small family trip which now seems to have some kind of #HansaPunk theme 🙂

I also do not think that the infrastructure left over after the crash will be used for positive and humane purposes:
