Teachers, nurses, librarians, students, artists and veterans all have a role in opposing fascism.

Azadeh Shahshahani and Stephanie Guilloud make the case for a movement that is broad, bold and unafraid to name what it is fighting.

@prietschka Satya Nadella admitted in November that Microsoft’s got Nvidia rigs piled in warehouses waiting for power:

> The biggest issue we are now having is not a compute glut, but it’s power and it’s sort of the ability to get the builds done fast enough close to power. So, if you can’t do that, you may actually have a bunch of chips sitting in inventory that I can’t plug in. In fact, that is my problem today, right? It’s not a supply issue of chips. It’s actually the fact that I don’t have warm shells to plug into.

So the world knows and it doesn't matter!

I’ll add that one thing I’m personally waiting to see is some sort of revelation about where all these GPUs Nvidia has been selling have gone.

The capacity isn’t there, there’s quite literally nowhere to plug all these GPUs in. The compute demand isn’t there, as Meta and XAI selling their idle capacity indicates.

So…where are the gazillion GPUs Nvidia has sold?

Falsifying data in a statistical analysis is a fireable offence, but erasing women from the scientific record is business as usual

Gosh I have so much work to do... but I'm too angry because the engineer who built the fucking space mirror for Reflect Orbital and then quit openly admits that it won't actually provide solar power and that it's just for "Maybe there's some, you know, grand party in the desert"

But they're still going to launch it. Fuck ecology and sleep patterns, we have to light up a party in the desert from orbit!

FUCK TECHBROS EVERYWHERE.

There's a decent chance that the Trump regime did irreparable damage to a packaged food company by claiming, falsely, that it was responsible for the explosive-diarrhea outbreak. Oops, said the incompetent (by Trump's choice) FDA. reuters.com/business/healthcar

The general uptime is good again, we're still investigating the cause however and might cause downtime again. A few things that happened since the last update:
1. Forgejo runners were (still) blocked after the outage due to a temporary block rule being left in place. This was fixed a few hours ago. In the UI they are still shown as offline, this is only a visual bug.
2. Registering and login was not possible due to Anubis not being aware of failover. This was fixed in the last hour.

#AI advice made people 3X less accurate but 2X as confident, researchers found

Willingness to say "I don't know" collapsed from 44% to 3% when AI was available. Monetary incentives barely helped.

Colton Borpo releases statement saying that "Mitch McConnell is for real" removing all doubt about the Senator's aliveness.

codeberg.org and legacy Codeberg Pages server has seen a long outage since yesterday, with blips of uptime. We are still investigating the problem, but it is unlikely to be resolved any time soon, as there is no clear cause to explain the disruption. We apologize for the inconvenience and for not providing an update on this disruption since it started happening.

There was a commercial for Claude AI before our movie tonight. When it was over, the entire theater booed.

Just marveling at this terms of service update GamersNexus caught LG pushing out to the owners of their (not at all cheap) TVs

If you can, please help me find a job and escape the US. I'm a front-end web dev with over 20 years of experience. I know React, of course, but I consider my core skills to be:

* HTML, CSS, and JS/TypeScript
* accessibility
* listening to users and caring about them
* hence, UI and UX

Looking for Ireland, other EU, Canada, Aus or NZ. I'll need visa sponsorship; I have US citizenship only.

There are 120 anti-data center protests happening nationwide today organized by is Humans First, a conservative advocacy group chaired by a Tea Party veteran.

Unrestricted growth of AI data centers is one of the more visible areas where MAGA is openly disagreeing with Trump.

Enshittification is the worst, time to block these assholes at the pihole.

hey US folks

if you aren't seeing law enforcement/right wing infiltrators in the progressive spaces you frequent

it's not because they aren't there

this public service announcement brought to you by what's certainly starting to look to me like a coordinated infiltration campaign in western Oregon and Washington

be thoughtful out there, and aware of your history

@zzt i encourage everyone involved with FOSS to make their anti AI stance very clear as soon as possible, because there is no pandering to “both sides”, and if you try, you will end up pandering to only one, and it is the one that worships markov chains and will eventually doom your project
