@Athena I am suddenly less interested in their policy on LLMs and more interested in their policy on ethics. Excluding ethical concerns as a basis for policy is what you do when you know your preferred policies are unethical. Any project which accepts such an exclusion should be treated as a threat.

Remember when they used to ask “why do you make everything about race?”

I just managed to make another watchface, this time (pun intended) it's always 11 AM, but the timezone changes every hour to where it's 11 AM in the world.

I wonder if a blackhat will launch a "new" LLM service that just MITMs ChatGPT/Claude/whatever as a service, but then harvests sensitive information from the context and prompts, and maybe even injects malware into the user's computer.

That would be kinda funny.

Looks like, at least for a while, AI is becoming the new Microsoft. It doesn't matter how unethically it was created or how opportunistically it's misrepresented by its supporters, employers are expecting you to train on it and know how it works.

Now is probably a good time to delete stuff from cloud services that you don't want becoming public.

Software is going to be *less secure* over the coming year, for a variety of reasons: Supply chain attacks; vibe coding; LLMs making vulnerabilities easier to find. (Some of this will resolve with time, but not all of it.)

That means your posts are gonna leak. Google Cloud, dating sites, any messaging service that isn't end-to-end encrypted. If there's anything at all possibly sensitive: Archive it locally and delete it from the server.
