The USA shows it's true colors,
"Exclusive: US threatens to cut intel, weapons to press Ukraine into peace deal, sources say"
The US is clearly not an ally/friend of Europe.

An employee well being survey indicates rollback of pandemic era flexible working conditions (RTO) and increased productivity demands have driven well being scores of workers down while managers report higher well being. Technology, healthcare and education show these trends the most.

I bet 2025 employee well-being scores will make 2024 look like a vacation in comparison given how much layoffs and AI replacement talk has ramped up.

This is the best, most concise description of US politics I've read in awhile.

"We keep looking for someone to unrig our system. Reagan sold optimism. Obama sold hope. Bernie sold revolution. Trump sold revenge. The public keeps upgrading the level of risk because nothing changes at the structural level."

Its near "super intelligence" "replacing professionals" in the PR rounds, 60 minutes and such, then once everyone is convinced and uses them for legal and medical advice, following the deceptive marketing, they slip it in the terms of service that you shouldn't do that.

This is an important document, about the growing entanglement of Big Tech's most evil people/companies and the US government -- and increasingly, the EU.

“It looks like these officers believe transparency itself is obstructive to their operations, which is a pretty good indicator that their operations are in need of obstruction … The First Amendment is intended to obstruct government abuses.”

RE: mastodon.social/@UnicornRiot/1

Recorded just a few months after police killed George Floyd and then brutally reacted to protests, 73 videos worn by 45 Minneapolis Police officers showcase three dozen hours of officer interactions and tactic discussions while illustrating MPD’s antagonistic relationship with the community.

On RNZ right now, they're talking about how the software used by pharmacists is not even remotely fit for purpose. Imagine that. Why isn't that sort of thing being sorted by an openly licensed (available to all) system developed by a consortium of companies - that can be scrutinised by anyone - because it's too important to be entrusted to the proprietary gain of any one company. This stuff is a no-brainer. Some things are far too important to be dependent on a profit motive.

Out this month. The anthology brings together essays, interviews, and roundtable discussions by and with 18 trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive birthing people, who share their experiences with conception, pregnancy, fertility treatment, and more. pmpress.org/index.php?l=produc

A reminder: today is the Trans Day of Remembrance. For those unfamiliar, this is when we remember trans people who were killed by acts of violence.

On a day like this, and in the current broader crisis as well: it can be hard to remember that you are loved and to allow yourself to feel that love. Please take extra care of yourselves today.

Practicing both compassion for ourselves and compassion for each other is incredibly important in grief. Although many of us have lost people directly, there are also many who have not and who want to support those in their lives who have.

Here are a couple of resources that will hopefully help.
