Due to the new tariffs that came into effect on April 5th, we’re temporarily pausing US sales of a few of our base Framework Laptop 13 systems (Ultra 5 125H and Ryzen 5 7640U).

For now, these models will be removed from our US site.

We will continue to provide updates as we have them.

Canada waiting for US economy to implode enough to make America 11th province - #TheBeaverton 🙃 thebeaverton.com/2025/04/canad

“With the stock market plunged into chaos by U.S. President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs, Canadians have decided to simply wait out America’s forthcoming economic collapse and then buy the nation on the cheap.”

They want you to think resistance is futile. But during Trump’s first term, organizing in communities and workplaces proved otherwise. When we organize, we disrupt power. Check out the link in our bio for PM author, Kevin Young’s, piece dissecting the ways in which social movements gained ground in Trump’s first term.

Check out Kevin’s book, Abolishing Fossil Fuels, at pmpress.org.

I don’t understand why people are perpetually surprised by Donald Trump’s actions. His behavior follows a very simple pattern: if he is promising to hurt someone or break something, he is telling the truth. Otherwise, he is lying. That’s it! There is no magic involved.

IT'S MY FIRST LONG-FORM VIDEO IT'S HERE

If you want to know:

-How make sense of food prices

-What scary news on the farm sector actually means

-How to keep the US fed when our leaders undermine trade

It starts with knowing the basics of how farms & money work!

"I scanned dozens of newspapers from around the U.S. & world. On average, international newspapers cover the widespread protests against Trump/Musk and for democracy much more prominently on their covers than those in the U.S.

This isn’t due to deadlines, protests were daytime in the U.S."

The punk rock exhibit is still up at Harvard until April 18th. At the

They will from the void build new works powered by the willful.

They will control their data, not entrusting their cache with the wizards in their towers.

They will work together to restore the future to it's intended state.

They will win with numbers, resolve, their will, and mutual aid.

They will win because the cruelty of greed is not more powerful that the instinct to survive, nor the nature of freedom.

Shape the void.

Own the wires.

Restore the future.

I've now seen a second instance of a quote attributed to me in a news site I've never heard of (and certainly was not interviewed for). In general, if the quote includes the phrase 'AI' with no scare quotes or other distance, that's a good sign it's not really from me.

I've written to ask for a retraction, so we'll see. I suspect this is yet another case of someone posting the text extruded from an LLM as if it were news. It's appalling.

US gov asks european suppliers to guarantee they don't do DEI.

Next: we ask US to guarantee they do fair pay, 5 weeks paid annual vacation and 1 year paid maternity leave.

Recent research in Germany showed that people that participated in demonstrations against the (far-)right are 23% more likely to actively step up when they witness racist/discriminatory events in their direct vicinity (I’ll put the source in a reply later). The street is our catwalk for democracy and fundamental human rights. Join protests.

One lesson I'd like to share about organising protests against the far-right and authoritarianism. Here in Munich, where we had protests with 200.000+ participants, there was one simple rule.

No politicians were allowed to speak on stage. Only activists.

The politicians, no matter what they promise at a protest, go back to their parliaments and continue to do effectively nothing. It's our protest. Not their photo-op.

"Move fast and break things" is "haste makes waste" restated as an objective.

The ruling class is tightening its grip—busting unions, criminalizing protest, and pushing us to the brink. But the story of May Day reminds us: the working class has always fought back. In a time of rising repression, worker solidarity isn’t nostalgia—it’s survival. Now through 5/1, get a free e-book copy of The Incomplete, True, Authentic, and Wonderful History of May Day with code MAYDAY. Grab it at the link in our bio.

"Countries like Germany, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India either already have their iteration of DOGE or are looking at creating it."

thanks to everyone who gave feedback and helped work out this new resolution for the #CoopCloud fedi 💖

https://docs.coopcloud.tech/federation/resolutions/in-progress/029/

Establish Budget 14, to pay for up to 12 hours a month of "radmin" (radical administration) work, to help the federation run smoother, for an initial period of 12 months.

this is a new step for us, establishing a paid role with a mandate to help boost our organising capacity ⚙️

if this passes, we'll be publishing an open call in may (hopefully). we're hoping to spread the open call in networks where this kind of paid remote finance/admin work would be most beneficial. any and all tips are welcome 🫡

(the resolution text might be a bit dense to read because it's intended for fedi members but the open call text will be more general 🙏)

#Patreon was terrible long before today. I wish people would get off that greedy, awful platform.
