America has been "disappearing" people for decades. They have military bases and black ops sites worldwide. They obey no law when they do this but their own desire to do it. In the past it was perhaps mostly foreigners or outsiders they summarily captured and tortured but don't count out that they do it to their own as well.

The USA is, and has always been, a violent, authoritarian state. Don't only notice that when it affects something you care about. It was always there.

Big Sigh. This 'Motu Move' ticketing system (like the regional venue ticketing contracts) demonstrates how the gov't simply doesn't understand how detrimental monopolies are to everything. Picking *one* vendor solution when there're many different possible solutions, is the simplistic & doomed approach. Specifying an open standard allowing any compliant vendor solution to participate is the way to go. I wrote this website years ago to explain it: openstandards.nz

The caveats and needs for further research the team notes are very honest. It’s hard to really calculate risk here because most vectors are physical and impact will vary by device and manufacturers.

@CedarTea Yes. I think it does explain a lot. At the beggining of the tarrifs crisis, it seemed a bit odd that Canadian politicians seemed to be very concerned about being treated the same as México.( and have shown zero solidarity so far to everyone's loss)
Then I saw reactions here in Europe. They are also very surprised to be treated like, well, we are used to being treated by the US in the global south(I am Mexican)
Realizing one day you are another colony of the US must be tough.
