If you buy a formerly stand-alone product that requires a connection to the Internet to use it -- such as a car in this example -- you are increasingly asking for trouble.

Believe it or not, it is legal for a company to brick a car -- to turn it, as one "owner" said, into a "lawn ornament".

The people who write the laws are as responsible for this as the scumbags who run/ran the bankrupt company.

When something horrible, but wacky, happens with #JDVance or #Project2025 people often say "The jokes write themselves."

But nobody says "The editorial cartoons draw themselves!"
It takes time & talent to make good cartoons.

So today I upgraded my monthly subscription to @jensorensen because she turns the horrible, bizarre & wacky news into funny, insightful cartoons.

Plus, as a Patreon subscriber, you get to read about her fascinating thinking & creative process🖖

Proud to say I work for an org like this 👇😂 (though in a totally different field...no pun intended).

“I think people either got to get big or get weird,” Josh Payne said. “We chose to get weird.”

If you materially support a genocide, what does that make you? How about if you pledge political allegiance to the people who are providing material support for a genocide? Questions that would keep me up at night if were I a different kind of person.

If capitalism works so well, why is it so hard to find a paying job doing labor that is actively beneficial to society, or at least not actively propagating harm?

Point being: people make mistakes. Even people who really, truly should know better.

You might be tired.
You might be unwell.
You might be distracted.

You might click the link.

And so might people you're tasked with helping and protecting.

Keep that in mind. It's never just the person's fault.

Design systems and policies in a way that takes this into account, always. Add a little friction, it really helps.

Because… people make mistakes. Even people who really, truly should know better.

Looks like the only solution that might work is to modify the actual DNS records to redirect specifically to "eviscerati.org/comics" . I have no idea how to do that, or if it's even possible (honestly I've only ever seen domain names point to ip addresses). I barely know how to modify .htaccess, and it usually requires my site go offline for hours while I figure out how to fix whatever it is I initially tried to do.

So for the moment all I can do is be annoyed. So I am annoyed. 3/fin

It's kind of fun to make up post election scenarios based upon the Democratic and Republican fear mongering.

Imagine a world of Nazis vs. pet eaters. Could the new Nazi Party stand up to the genocidal Zionists? Where would the army of pregnant trans Amazons come into play?

I'm predicting climate change for the loss.
