Turns out that Mastodon instances are seeing a major uptick in system requirements even if their user numbers haven't gone up much, just due to the massive spike in Fediverse activity in the past week or so. Also turns out it's easy to increase the capabilities of a Docker-based Mastodon instance like the 4 I run (hadn't had to confront that sort of problem previously!). I would love to support Māori to set up dedicated instances; digital marae where you are in charge of the kawa and kaitiakitanga of your own data. You decide who can speak in the wharenui (join the instance) and on the marae atea (Federated timeline). You can even host an instance on a computer in your rohe if you want to. Not something you can do with Titter or TikTak ;)

#Cooperative advocates who are also into DAOs: can you provide me with at least one (ideally more) example of a DAO that is 1) doing something cool and useful; 2) has at least a bit of a track record; and 3) couldn't be done in some way that does not rely on the blockchain.
