What is #FreeSoftware? Do you know its advantages?

@Gargron wow, not wanting to add to your load... but I just saw that you've opted for Discord and Github Discussion for supporting #MastoAdmins. It's really disappointing that a FOSS paragon like Mastodon has snubbed the great FOSS support options, opting for such clangingly inappropriate closed technologies for its most crucial community members. Very bad optics. I won't use those tools on principle... but I would commit my time/$ to help you switch to & maintain suitable FOSS options.
I suppose it's time again for my monthly posting of "Free Software Needs Free Tools" by @mako:
Folks interested in the ongoing viability of our planet... (all of you, I would hope) if you don't know about Kate Raworth's "Doughnut Economics", you need to. Here's a very good interview in which she explains it quite well. https://www.planetcritical.com/p/the-most-sustainable-economy-in-the-world She's also a big fan of FOSS and the open commons (she mentions Māori & Ubuntu)! And I'm *so* chuffed she explicitly cites Kim Stanley Robinson's "The Ministry for the Future"! Another essential read for anyone interested us having a viable future.

12 scientists are held in prison for a non-violent climate protest in Germany. The judge has decided they'll remain in custody for up to a week.
There is something they want you to hear. Follow the thread for their testimonies. #UniteAgainstClimateFailure #ScienceInJail (1/n)

Please boost for reach: To any F-droid developers, is there a way for tags or categories to be added by developers or users, like "accessible", so that users could then filter apps by that tag? This could be useful for people to find accessible #foss apps for Android. Perhaps another tag could be added, "not accessible", so that users or developers could mark apps that are not, or cannot, be made accessible as well.
