Former ICC Prosecutor Says He and His Family Faced Threats Over Israel Investigation
Former International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan said he and his family have faced threats and sanctions linked to the court's investigations, including its case concerning Palestine.
Speaking publicly, Khan said he had been warned that opposing Israel could result in reprisals against his family, adding that he received a letter from U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Senator Mitch McConnell.
Khan said that U.S. sanctions imposed over the Palestine investigation led to the freezing of his bank accounts, the disabling of his email, travel restrictions, and visa measures affecting his children.
He also said members of his family had been targeted despite sanctions normally applying only to designated individuals.
Reminder: if you are inside the green or dark green area of this map, watch the ~10 o'clock position of the moon tonight at 2:35am EDT/11:35pm PDT. More info here: https://spaceweather.com/archive.php?day=28&month=07&year=2026&view=view
You probably won't see anything. But maybe you'll see a little poof of dust within a few minutes as something the size of a bus crashes into the moon at more than 8,000 km/hr

@rsbivand I know this is now the recommended way, but the problem is precisely that it takes "a little digging" to find the EPSG code for "the standard projection used" in the region we want to map, if it exists at all (which it doesn't necessarily for all regions). So, to me it's much more practical to use PROJ notation for quick but (reasonably) accurate maps of anywhere, as long as the caveats are taken into account.
AI data centers could raise electric rates in Northern Virginia by 25% by 2030. Nationwide, data centers are already helping push power bills up faster than the cost of living.

This is very random but please boost: Can someone in Bodø lend me a handle to change the direction of opening the window? Where I am staying the window only tilts a bit, it is way too hot and I need fresh air. The receptionist told me that they are not allowed to give me the handle despite there being no children and no drunk people in the room. I already travel with a Swiss Army knife to unscrew some types of window limiters (yes I do screw them back in before leaving) but do not have the thing used here (a square prism rod perhaps 6mm wide).

Politico has become right-wing mouthpiece, and nowhere is that clearer than its crusade to make much more of New Jersey's voter registration goof's than it remotely deserves.
