I don’t go into pro-LLM spaces to harass people and neither does any AI critic I know. all of us think pro-AI spaces are too gross to touch. that’s why it’s a fucking tragedy when a space goes pro-AI: it sucks the oxygen out of everything else and turns everything into slop. it’s fucking depressing.

I’m not apologizing for some shit that neither I nor nobody I know did. I’m out of patience for supposed AI critics acting like authorities in a space I’m extremely active in, pretending that we’re doing something we don’t do. I’m tired of finding out those supposed critics have been critihyping AI for years and run in right-wing circles.

Oh dear. I had to sign up for #LinkedIn - dummy account of course - in order to do research for articles I am writing and... I am not OK.

Just spending 10 minutes a day on LinkedIn, reading what European tech entrepreneurs* are sharing is... painful. I am CRINGING SO HARD.

That being said, I wish I had 10% of the confidence and lack of self-awareness of these tech bros.

I got the boot this month and am looking for a new software developer job. Rust and Python would be fun, but I can do a lot of stuff in JS/TS, Kotlin, Java, even C/C++ with a bit of a brush up... Bit of a jack of all trades full stack dev.

Working with open source would be awesome if it paid just enough to survive the mortgage and get something to eat. Climate positive job or EU digital independence development is interesting too.

Hybrid work within reasonable distance from Klaukkala is a-OK. Remote probably whole of EU <3. Can't travel.

Software used to be more like that. Open a word processor and start typing. It never does anything else unless you tell it to. It doesn't offer to write for you. It doesn't fix your typos unless you ask. It's reliable and constant, and your brain doesn't need to give it much thought.

Modern software is a battle of wills against some experience designer somewhere. They have made assumptions about what you want to do (or what the business wants you to do), and you cannot appeal these decisions.
