@rhelune @domo Search in general is such garbage nowadays. I get that the SEO spam is a huge factor, but every engine's response seems to be "But what if we ignored the search terms and provided results by ✨guessing✨."

Student: “So Elon Musk is a trillionaire?”
Me: “Yup.”
Student: “How did he get that much money?”
Me: “Well, he doesn’t really have a trillion dollars cash. He just owns a lot of stock in companies that are valued at a trillion dollars.”
Student: “So those companies make huge profits?”
Me: “Oh gosh no. They all lose billions of dollars a year. All of them. Huge losses.”

It looks like Microsoft's DevOps libraries for Azure Functions might have been compromised. No statement yet but Github is nuking Microsoft's own repos.

In Buddhism an intermediate goal state is to attain a truly empty, still mind and frankly I don’t get why that’s considered so difficult. My mind is empty and motionless every time I do a coding interview.

Just now I fucked up reversing a linked list so that’s how my day is going

The power that could emerge from our coming together. The pooling of our efforts and our resources, through the interweaving of ropes, long and strong enough to allow us to hold together in the face of the challenges of our time. This is what we call Mujawara. A revolutionary neighbouring that we have already begun to weave from all these territories, these places, and popular powers born of our struggles.

And to inaugurate it, and to begin weaving this neighbouring that crosses borders, we will organize, across five continents and throughout the month of June, a series of internationalist actions within all these places born before or in the wake of our uprisings and maintained over the years despite every hardship.

Sit with this for a second: If the White House had its way, all the immigrants in this country would be dead -- at least on paper. WaPo reports that the Trump administration had plans to classify 2.7 million living people — including some U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents — as dead as part of its immigration enforcement efforts. The plan reportedly fell apart after pushback from Social Security Administration employees who were tasked with implementing it.

Do they still make these things? I think my mother's bathroom is the only place I've ever seen one...and this one has been in use for over 40 years.

I was laid off last month due to cost reduction so I used this unexpected « opportunity » to give a boost on the renovation of my house. Doing everything by myself allows me to keep it on a decent budget but I will need to go back to work in a few months 👀

I’m a software engineer with 17 years of experience on distributed systems. I’ve been writing Rust for 6 years (prior to that PHP/NodeJs/Go). I have a good experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Databases & IaaS. Very much opened to learning embedded systems.
Open to remote part-time contract or employee status (max 4 days/week) with occasional travel.

"this is one of the smartest engineers in the field BECOMING dumb right before our eyes. That ought to scare you!"

That's the "AI" issue in a nutshell. We all rely on each other, on each other's skills and abilities. And we're just destroying capability left and right.

@glyph I never want to cast shade on addicts for being addicted, addictions are fucking awful.

I absolutely will cast shade on addicts for insisting I should be addicted too, and for transforming all of society around the idea that my being addicted is a good thing.
