@_elena @kawunngg :blobcatheart: Thank you!

The sentence that inspired most of my humble resistance, was the one I read by the author of Nepenthes:

“I’m just fed up, and you know what? Let’s fight back, even if it’s not successful. Be indigestible. Grow spikes.”

@nixCraft I already said & saying again. AI making humans lazy and dumb. So #StopAI #NoAi

I made a more in-depth post about OpenSCAD: manchicken.com/2026/03/10/3-op

I might be having too much fun with this program; don't tell the Feds.

Dear Fedi friends,

I'd like to put together a list of people who are publicly resisting / calling out LLMs and AI slop.

Why? I enjoy reading my Fediverse feed in topical lists and I need something to counteract the unrelenting AI hype I see in the media.

Do you have any recommendations?

So far, at the top of my list I have:

@timnitGebru @emilymbender and @alexhanna of @DAIR

plus @cwebber @jaredwhite and @tante

Anyone else to recommend who advocates for #NoAI?

When you post things on Instagram, Facebook, and X, this is what they look like to people who don’t use those platforms. @vicfroh mastodon.social/@vicfroh/11617

All I feel when someone mentions "Claude" or similar so-called "models", is utter revulsion.

some time ago i (half) joked that the only job #llm can replace outright is the CEO.

today i attended an earnings call where a synthetised voice of our CEO read multi-page long table of numbers from an official financial document, according to a script prepared by claude, over a single slide titled "company earnings 2025" - to a room full of employees who commuted to the office to watch it in person. there was no management present or even shown on the screen.

it was the most disturbed dystopian fucking thing i've experienced in my career of working for soul-crushing corporations.

English speakers of the fedi. In a software with the interface in English, Reading a menu with verbs such as Save, Open, Close, Edit, Format etc., do you read them as imperative (an order: "do this") or as an infinitive (the "base form" of the verb, like "to do this")?

Are you a native speaker or have English as a second language?

Hi everyone,

If you are using hastags with multiple words, please use camel case.

#LikeThisExample

Not #likethisexample

Why?

A) Screen readers will see a bunch of letters that doesn't make one word and read out each individual letter. Which makes it hard to understand.

B) For us signed people, it is also easier to read.

Thanks you

All corruption, all the time in Trump world, exhibit 64,549:

citizensforethics.org/reports-

Big Journalism has done sporadic coverage of the beyond-epic corruption in Trump world. But occasional stories don't begin to show the breadth and depth of the sleaze. They could learn from this independent piece.

Cool! Just tested my personal Mailcow installation against this tool: emailspooftest.com - so far so good - it's blocking the spoofed emails as it's meant to!

Mastodon has a new human-over-AI contribution policy.

tl;dr:

- The human contributor is the sole party responsible for the contribution.

- If AI was used to generate a significant portion of your contribution (i.e. beyond simple autocomplete), we require you to disclose it in the Pull Request description.

- If you cannot guarantee the provenance and legal safety of the AI-generated code, do not submit it.

- Cases of repeated violations of these ... guidelines could result in a ban from our repositories.

GenAI: really putting "break things" into "move fast and break things"

Make sure you read that privacy policy. Persona, the creepy-ass firm selling PII to the Feds for human rights abuse purposes, is the vendor being selected by a number of firms for identity verification. Creepy companies such as these are the primary threat actors against working people and their privacy.

I understand we’re supposed to be more afraid of China, Cl0p, and ShinyHunters, but threat actors such as Persona use the appearance of legitimacy to violate our privacy and our legal rights in broad daylight.

"AI can make mistakes, always check the results"

I fucking loathe this phrase and everything that goes into it. It's not advice. It's a threat.

You probably read it as "AI is _capable_ of making mistakes; you _should_ check the results".

What it actually says is "AI is _permitted_ to make mistakes; _you are liable_ for the results, whether you check them or not".

Except "you" is generally not even the person building, installing, or even using the AI. It's the person the AI is used on:

When I started in security, one of the prevailing attitudes was "The weakest link in the chain will always be the human."

I would like to thank every LLM provider and startup for changing this paradigm by introducing a much weaker link in the chain.
