The first signs of burnout are coming from the people who embrace #AI the most - https://techcrunch.com/2026/02/09/the-first-signs-of-burnout-are-coming-from-the-people-who-embrace-ai-the-most/
If you have a Ring (Amazon) camera, you are -- or will become -- a tool of the surveillance state. Is that really what you want to be?
@atax1a can I, like, make an advance directive that if I'm incapacitated and require surgery that no AI-assisted instruments can be used
like a DNR, but DNAI
Most allegedly involved errors in which the TruDi Navigation System misinformed surgeons about the location of their instruments while they were using them inside patients’ heads during operations.

I think imma just keep reposting this every day, as nothing expresses my rage about this farce better:
Ring has announced a new “Search Party” feature that could eventually bring mass biometric surveillance to our streets. It’s on by default. Shut it off.

California must revoke permits allowing federal agencies such as CBP and the DEA to put automated license plate readers along border highways, a coalition of 38 groups led by EFF and the Imperial Valley Equity & Justice Coalition demanded today of Governor Gavin Newsom and the CA Dept of Transportation. https://www.eff.org/press/releases/coalition-urges-california-revoke-permits-federal-license-plate-reader-surveillance
Rümeysa Öztürk’s case is arguably the most blatant press freedom violation of this century.

Found yet another gaping hole in yet another enterprise security tool. It requires a specific set of conditions in which a disgruntled employee would be able to retain access to highly sensitive systems indefinitely, beyond separation.
I’d write it up, but for some reason vendors always quibble about shit like this. They don’t want vulns for their products which require physical access, or machine compromise, or insider threat conditions.
Enterprise features like SAML are _why_ many smaller businesses pay for enterprise licenses.
Let me ask you: If these products don’t protect the organization in those cases, even with those enterprise features, why buy?

did my civic duty today:
went to a local donut shop
noticed they had a new ring camera up.
i ask the nice hispanic girl behind the counter "hey you know ice can see through that ring camera, right?"
she goes UHHHH NO WTF I HAVE ONE AT HOME
"tear it out of the wall. yank the power. ring gives ice free access to those"
