Sexual assault at ICE detention centers under the Obama admin were so common that ICE tried to claim its not their responsibility to police their detention center staff and contractors.

Many of these cases stem from a ICE center opened in 2014 under Obama but didn't go to trial until the 1st Trump admin.

This is bipartisan and systemic abuse with police forces.

So now I’m watching Tron Legacy (2010). At the start of the film, we see that two of the lead characters from the previous film have become the co-CEOs of the company, rewarded for their accomplishments. One had written a very popular videogame, and the other some infosec software.

The third lead character from the previous film, a woman, who had invented an actual star-trek-like transporter that can dematerialize and rematerialize people, gets no mention whatsoever. Like, after inventing the most incredible and valuable technology of her century, she is forgotten with her invention moldering in a basement.

Sadly, this is the most realistic aspect of the film.

If you feel your life is better when rules are clear, and when someone is telling you what to do and how to behave, and you think that kind of oppressive authoritarianism is worth devoting your earnings to, then I am begging you: just hire a dominatrix and stay out of politics. You CAN have an authoritarian rule over you without subjecting everyone else to the same. There are people who will keep you in line for a fee.

HOW TO MOVE FROM WINDOWS TO LINUX:

0. Extract your Windows license key with Produkey https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html You may need it later.

1. Pick a distro. Doesn't really matter, but see comments for 1000 suggestions and misleadingly excess complications and twiddles that nobody asked for. Ubuntu and Mint are common starters. I use Xubuntu. Again, really doesn't matter.

The one thing I *do* suggest is: you pick one with a live USB. That way you can start the computer in your chosen distro and check all your hardware works before committing. Vital if you have any weird stuff.

2. Install it.

3. Many programs will have Linux versions. If so, sweet!

4. Most Windows software works under Wine. If you use Steam, just install that.

5. Windows stuff that refuses to work under Linux? Set up VirtualBox and install Windows 10/11 using the product key you extracted in step 0. That way you can use That One Fucking App without having to use Windows the rest of the time.
