Welp. Despite the fact that our National Tax Office (the Dutch IRS) has an OSPO and despite them being "aware of privacy concerns" they're still going forward with moving their on-premise email and office software to Microsoft Office 365. 🫠

The enormous elephant in the room regarding the increasing demands on our electricity grid is simply this: we don't actually _need_ AI. It's not in any way a public need for public good. It's a private and public want. If you turned off every major GAI tomorrow nothing would demonstrably change except for our power consumption would go down and nvidia's stock would crash.

Illinois Governor Pritzker officially calling for the 25th Amendment to be invoked in response to Trump suggesting Chicago and other US cities be used as “military training grounds”.

Honestly, it should have been invoked months ago.

If other Governors and elected officials want to save democracy, they should stand with Pritzker.

They can’t invoke it themselves, but public pressure works.

I live in a town of 600 people in the middle of nowhere. There's an on-going embezzlement scandal at the school (it's a combination primary and high school) that everyone is talking about, especially since THE FBI SHOWED UP to investigate. I have a suspicion whatever was going on may have been a wee bit bigger than some missing funds at our school.

Yikes...but also pass the popcorn.
