The San Francisco Police Department is the latest California law enforcement agency to get caught sharing automated license plate reader data with out-of-state and federal agencies. It’s been six months since ICE captured Alma Bowman, a disabled immigrant who already spent thirty months in ICE custody during the first Trump regime.

On March 26th, 2025 she arrived at her immigration check in with her lawyers.

She was taken into custody and has been held ever since.

Alma is the daughter of a Navy veteran who’s lived in the US for nearly 50 years.

She has a valid claim to citizenship which is currently before the courts.

She was following all the rules, so why is she back in custody?

Retaliation.

When she was released the first time she worked as a whistle blower to help close down the Irwin Detention facility.

She exposed atrocities such as forced sterilization and various abuses of women in custody.

She fought tirelessly for immigrants and disabled people.

She fought to improve the conditions in these camps.

She’s paying dearly for it and deserves whistleblower protection.
