Latest comic on "solving" the problem of fascism by insulting the very people trying to fight it.
Apropos @peertube the french developer collective @Framasoft are currently trying to raise the (for #bigTech derisory) amount of EUR 75,000 to develop the opensource #fediverse competitor app to Youtube. Maybe chuck 'em a few euros if you think it useful?

Gabriel Kuhn joins The Assistant Professor of Football for a new episode to explore “Red Vienna” in the 1920s: antifascism, workers’ sports, sober politics, and what they offer us today. Centering the life of Julius Deutsch, Kuhn sheds light on a time when soccer wasn’t just a game—it was part of building a better world.

One thing that bothered me since some time is that for switching between different 🎶 players required to🔓 the 📱 .
So e.g. pausing #gnome podcasts to listen to music via #gapless needed ever so many steps. I've thus added a lockscreen plugin to #phosh that tracks all currently running media players that use #mpris and allows to interact with them.
This is all pretty rough still but I can hopefully brush it up for 0.48 (https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh/-/merge_requests/1729).
Has anyone had luck getting #MacVenture games to run on Linux *outside* of the #BasiliskII Mac Classic emulator?

Two upper-caste 'left thinkers' discuss on the Left’s growing irrelevance in India, blaming technology for its disconnect from the masses. How typical. It's not surprising then that they do not mention the near total absence of #Dalits and other oppressed communities in Left leadership since 1957. Think-tanks like #ProgressiveInternational should first send their folks to live in our communities—without income—for at least 5 years before they’re allowed to pontificate.

Even a former prime minister of Israel admits his country is committing war crimes.
Meanwhile, defenders of these crimes are saying, essentially, that anyone who criticizes the Netanyahu regime is anti-Semitic.

#FediForum premiere for my Fediverse promo film = done.
How did it go? So well that I've been fighting back tears for the past half hour.
Getting such warm, positive comments from builders and champions of the fediverse is EVERYTHING ❤️ Thank you @j12t for this opportunity.
I'm almost tempted to "deploy on a Friday" and share the link to the video now 😅 But nah, I know better. Tuesday it is! (Monday is a public holiday here)
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Oh no I just got some bad news: Monday is a public holiday in France; my daughter's pre-school will be closed. So I will have to wait till Tuesday to release the Fedi promo video on my site 😭
Launching it on a public holiday is the same thing as deploying software updates on a Friday afternoon.
How much time to work will I have on Monday? 0 minutes. And I want to be on top of things in case there are any issues... and respond to people's feedback.
So Tuesday morning? 🥲

@lightweight yeah, LLM's ... Been thinking about that a lot lately. They're a useful tool once you've built up a large body of knowledge and have healthy skepticism. I'm concerned about a future where students and workers just rely on their output without being able (or willing) to question their output.
Feels like creeping ever closer to idiocracy
