San Francisco recs please?! My adult kid, who just graduated from college, is touring the US and just got to the SF Bay Area. Would anyone care to suggest destinations or artist collectives for them? Are there any current and innovative art exhibitions? Music concerts- maybe, they like post-punk? Also, wildlife: best birdwatching or short hikes to viewpoints? I remember an urban hike around the twin peaks that I enjoyed.

I have a nasty feeling that the fascists are going to do everything in their power to drive all the good content off of streaming.

I wonder what's available on DVDs at this point? There are some series I love that are possibly in danger due to their queer content -- everything from _Sense8_ to _She-Ra_…

The European Federation of Journalists, #EFJ, says starting January 20, it will discontinue posting content on the #ElonMusk-owned #SocialMedia platform #X.

In a statement on its website, EFJ says it can no longer ethically participate in a social network whose owner peddles #disinformation and #propaganda.

I'm a student in physical #oceanography in northern germany and mainly here for finding interesting research related content. Second interest is just general #opensource stuff & programming and third is politics.

I marvel every day that the 'enterprise' is still a thing, given how inefficient, ineffectual, and unappealing nearly all the self-proclaimed examples I've encountered are...

"Enterprise" has always included a rolling of the eyes and negative connotations when I use that, and I do explain that to people when I'm giving them a tour and say, "and this is our *Enterprise* ___" which fortunately only applies to one system I touch.

Unfortunately, those with purchasing power have positive connotations attached to "Enterprise". Nobody ever got fired for buying Big Blue? Nobody learned the lessons from Mythical Man Month!
