Larry Ellison, who was a terrible person long before the current generation of Silicon Valley terrible people emerged, is promoting a total surveillance society -- which is the linchpin to tomorrow's fascism.

The fact that his company stands to profit immensely from such a thing is probably not his top motivation.

Decisions concerning people’s freedom, mobility, and ability to seek safety in the United States should not be made by computers. That's why EFF and over 100 other organizations are calling on the U.S. government to stop this practice. eff.org/deeplinks/2024/09/eff-

The European mind cannot comprehend this:

“The University of California just announced a list of military weaponry it wants in order to escalate its warfare on its students:
3000 rounds of pepper munitions
500 rounds of 40mm impact munitions
12 drones
9 grenade launchers

I think the people of the US need to come to terms with the fact that we live in a "failed state." The entire state of Oregon, along with large sections of Washington and Idaho are currently ablaze, and we can't even pay firefighters enough to keep them around.

My current political stance is that ALL POLITICIANS at national level (and probably state and local levels too) need to be replaced, via sortition. Draw names out of a hat - we certainly couldn't do any worse.

San Francisco: On Monday, you have the chance to ask the police your questions about drone surveillance in our city.

Extremists are so desperately hoping someone will find an actual immigrant eating a cat that I wouldn't be surprised if they stage something like this...

If you did NOT purchase your Deniz Camp comics with Justice Warriors, it's okay, every day is a new opportunity to make better choices to improve your life

To what degree is the Republican Party a cult?

A reporter went looking for Republican lawmakers willing to push back on the epic "eating pets" lie. You won't be a bit surprised that she couldn't find a single one.

“In 11 months, Connecting Humanity has managed to send four-hundred thousand donated eSIMs from all around the world to Gaza, which is equivalent to 10 million US dollars. And we are still connecting people, and we are still asking for eSim donations every day.”
