You know what would be nice? If there were a national public transportation policy -- if instead of shaming people driving cars, leftists and liberals demanded a system that doesn't force millions into the necessity of owning a personal vehicle.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't seen this being seriously pushed anywhere. Public transit is left to local governments to figure out (and pay for), and a lot of environmentalists seem to take pride in dunking on those of us driving ICE vehicles out of necessity, which does nothing to further climate goals.

People who get to experience good public transit systems tend to love them, but a lot of us were born in places where that's not an experience we've had. Rather than trying to shame people into less carbon intensive lifestyles, why not demand a system that makes that possible for everyone?

Why smoothen so much to similar tone and cadence and words and grammatical structures? I mean, I really want to understand. What is behind it? I suspect feelings of being not-good-enough. But maybe time pressure. And probably many other reasons.
