I said awhile back that given that the US has had far more people die of covid than China, despite our much smaller population, that I would trust the Chinese gov't to handle covid much more than I trust my own gov't to. Well, it looks like I was being a bit too optimistic, as the Chinese authorities have apparently decided to ape our disastrous policies and public health messaging. No matter how pessimistic I get, it's impossible to keep up.

People in #Montreal rallied and blocked the port in solidarity with Wet'suwet'en Indigenous water protectors under attack by Coastal GasLink.
