You seem to want to impose conflict where none really exists. OO and functional can coexist, when both are used in areas where they are the best tool for the job. Both will produce derision when they are used incorrectly.

Python tenet: 'explicit is always better than implicit' ... except when you're talking about things that save typing like g-strings, no block delimiters, terse collection specifiers, etc.

@fatboy They're a symptom of a bigger problem. Just following in the footsteps of the companies that paved the way (IBM, Microsoft, AOL, ...). Monopolies will come and go in a system that allows them to flourish.

I don't understand why python became popular. Indention blocking is asking for trouble. Bad boolean implementation. (Not a true type, and "True/False" why the caps?)
