Does anyone here know #linux mount namespaces well?

I need to #ssh to an old phone supporting only #RSA but I don't want a huge #container .

When I override /etc/ssh_config in a namespace to add rsa, that file is not owned by root and ssh exits...

Slides from my #wayland input method presentation are up now!

I'm impressed by the new activity on input methods! Is that the usual post-talk excitement, or will things switch to a new gear?
We'll know in a week or so. Thank you all anyway :)

TOMORROW: Get trained on the tools you need to exercise your constitutional right to monitor ICE and other federal agencies as they terrorize our communities.

Over 200,000 people joined last week’s ICE watch training. Let’s make this call even bigger: mobilize.us/indivisible/event/

To protect our digital rights, we need the rule of law. When an armed agent of the government breaks the law, the civilian they injure must be made whole. This includes money damages to compensate them for their injury. eff.org/deeplinks/2026/02/prot

@ErickaSimone Nice rose-colored glasses, but the racism and big tech profiteering were there in 1994. I don't know about Compuserve and gopher, but Usenet was full of racists. AOL, Compuserve, etc. weren't giving it away for free. It just wasn't as populated and as easy to use.

Hey friends. If you know anybody who's looking hiring, please send them my way.

More sad commentary on the state of software development/engineering...I did a web search for "software engineering books" and found almost all the recommendations and "popular titles" were for coding books.

I can pretty much recommend against any book that has "clean", "pragmatic", or a 3GL name in the title. I wonder if any software engineering books are being written anymore?

Imagine seeing someone wearing Schumer merch. Real life Beavis & Butthead Winger kid.

I'm assuming you mean an interpreted langauage for "what it is". Let's see...
idk, for what it is Visual Basic is pretty efficient.
idk, for what it is REXX is pretty efficient.
...ad nauseum

What it is is the latest popularity contest winner. A new winner will come along, and the hype cycle will ramp up.

This guy named Ben Palmer made an "Immigration tip line" and people call it thinking he's ICE.

He records them and shares it with the world.

What do people sound like when reporting their neighbors, coworkers, students? Are they confident they are doing a righteous good thing?

Here the banality of evil in these sheepish suburban voices.

Just discovered part of my HRT has been discontinued due to an AI note taking error. Gynae did not say discontinue, and I have letters to prove it. Now I may have to be without testosterone until this is proven, which may mean another 6 month wait to resee a gynaecologist via NHS. Hopefully my letters will suffice, but currently unclear.

I am beyond furious. Also, wow. Fuck living in this dystopia.

Keep every medical record you get, you're going to need it in this new terrifying timeline.

A modest proposal: any company or organisation that has a telephone system with a hold or queuing system, must pay as a tax an amount equal to the National Minimum Wage (approx 20p / minute) for every minute every caller is on hold, whether or not that call is eventually answered or the caller drops out.

SAVE Act would require birth cert or passport that matches voters legal name. 69M women may have a legal name that doesn’t match their birth cert. An estimated 21M would be turned away at polls. This act is an attempt to disenfranchise women voters.

DHS calls whistleblowers a “threat to national security.”

But without leaks to the press, the public wouldn’t know that ICE is entering homes without warrants, labeling protesters “domestic terrorists,” building mass surveillance tools with Big Tech, or pushing propaganda.
