Wrote in @globalvoices about the Ethiopian doctors' labour movement. Their month long labour strike paralyzed Ethiopia's health sector. Ethiopian doctors are among the lowest paid doctors in Africa, with salaries on average ~70$ monthly. Strikers demanded better pay & fair working conditions among other things.

In response, authorities arrested 149 striking doctors.

Undeterred, the MDs are planning a new strike if reform isn't inplemented by Sept 15.

Emma De Paz is a street vendor in LA who sold food outside a Home Depot that was raided by the Gestapo

She’s lived in California for decades and has worked hard to make a living selling pollo asado and carne asada to people on Sunset Boulevard. She’s never committed a crime.

After being grabbed, she had to be transported to White Memorial Hospital for serious medical issues

She’s now in a detention camp where detainees are apparently being given a pack of cookies and a capri sun daily… nothing more

Her family fears for her health and says her medical conditions are not being properly treated

This is the cruelty of the Trump regime

Detaining people who’ve done nothing wrong, and causing them harm and potential disability in the process
