I decided to challenge one of the punk record companies to move to the fediverse. I wonder if I'll get a reply. I wonder if I'll get challenged to provide a solution.

I don't understand why people want to post pictures.

US-funded ‘social network’ attacking #pesticide critics shuts down after Guardian investigation - theguardian.com/us-news/2025/f "v-Fluence halts operations after widespread backlash over private portal profiling environmental health advocates" guardian becomes more vital by the day...

@dcz Just a joke. For serious results I like to look at the https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian/benchmarkgame/index.html
Right now, there's no direct head-to-head rust to python, but from each comparisons to similar languages show rust is about 100x faster than python for most algorithms.

I just like to belittle python; much like I used to do with Visual Basic in days past.

I noticed a very strange URL today, a JS resource in a parking permit renewal site:

https[://]prodpci[.]etimspayments[.]com/orld-Swearer-they-profes-ayre-andlessedomenthoug

It's a constant string, as far as I can tell. Which is weird, because it looks like the output of a passphrase generator, except with characters dropped?

It returns a bunch of garbage-y stuff, but not just the usual compressed JS—at a glance, it looks obfuscated. Also, after logging in, there's a POST to this endpoint that returns JSON with a `token` field.

This is at prodpci.etimspayments.com/pbw/ if anyone is curious.

"Every week brings a new chorus of voices demanding that [insert tech giant] must “do better” [...] We’ve become digital peasants, petitioning various lords and kings to please, please fix the internet for us."

Yes, maybe you don't like life outside of #youtube . But if you only publish there, you've become a digital peasant subject to the whims of your lord.

Youtube is not my friend, so if you stay confined there, I won't watch you.

This seems like a really good idea: education software - a collaborative whiteboard - funded by a centralised gov't education department and developed by the local university... squeet.me/display/962c3e10-594

A group of neo-Nazis went to Cincinnati Ohio this week to wave Nazi flags off of highway overpasses.

Only problem is they did this in a Black neighborhood that's had enough of their hateful bullshit.

Police were unwilling or unable to keep the crowd of pissed of Black Americans from running off the Nazis.

Ok, returning to the slow-burn project of finishing an important (to me) Drupal 7 to 10 upgrade. Drupal, you don't make it easy, although, I'm increasingly convinced that it's possible. I just have tighten up my feedback loop (i.e. I have to relearn all the stuff I've forgotten since the last time I looked at this a few months ago)...
