#Oil firms made ‘false claims’ on blue #hydrogen costs, says ex-lobby boss | #HydrogenPower | The Guardian

So-called #BlueHydrogen is another scam that #FossilFuel #companies are promoting to carry on effectively as normal. H2 could potentially be extracted (more) sustainably but the infrastructure isn’t there yet.

Interesting to see this review/comparison of NextCloud with is proprietary competitors in this mainstream IT rag: itproportal.com/reviews/nextcl

Just a periodic reminder: Microsoft's VSCode is not open source. No more than Google's Chrome is. Both are based on open source projects (Chromium and the unimaginatively-named VSCodium are open source) but include proprietary stuff like fonts, integrations, and telemetry. If a software app isn't entirely FOSS, it's entirely proprietary. If you're using VSCode or Chrome, you're not using open source.

The former @FCC chief technologist built a scanning system like Apple's. But then: "We warned against our own system design." washingtonpost.com/opinions/20

@dynamic What I've wondered is why some of these similar-leaning sites don't just merge and pool resources. Is it ego or money related?

@dynamic Independent media is mostly funded by the people these days, so there is a constant struggle to be relevant enough to get an audience; which is pretty much the same as the mainstream media fighting for ad dollars, but with better content.

@dynamic Ted Rall has some good insight on Afghanistan. rall.com/ scroll down and there are three recent articles.

I really don't understand liberals in this country who think that the way to get people to change their behavior is to shame them.

Some folks have asked about making a spam blocker for the #Pinephone . I made one here for #Phosh: gitlab.com/kop316/phosh-antisp

If the contact is not in your contact list (or you added it as "Spam), it will automatically hang up.

Also, it has some user configuration options to allow 1) blocked numbers, 2) a caller through if they call twice within 10 seconds, or 3) A way to look for a subset of a number (e.g. an area code, a number prefix) and let that through.

Let me know what you think of it!

Headline news makes it appear as if the Taliban was responsible for 9/11.

Fear is a money maker for the media, which is why all the big media outlets push it.

Wow. Check this out: a RISC-V-based camera component (compatible with OpenMV)... is a similar cost to its ARM Cortext-M7-based predecessor... but is *thousands of times faster*... aliexpress.com/item/4000009313

Psst, pass it on: Billionaires and trillion-dollar corporations are inherently incompatible with social justice.

@mkwadee Dont think he learned anything from dad? (South America) Don't think dad was whispering on ear?

@mkwadee Didn't say no blame; just not all the blame. Following in tradition of Korea, Vietnam, ...

Signalise is a platform co-op that enables users to request and book interpreting services. Its democratically owned by deaf people, health staff and interpreters. This year they raised £330,000 pounds of investment in a crowdfunding campaign, exceeding their target by 10%.

It has now won the bid to become the main service provider for sign language interpreter services for the National Health Service in Liverpool, the fifth largest city in the country.
