It used to be that I was the online publishing pessimist and Hugh was the optimist, to the point where a decade ago at a publishing conference in Berlin, after I'd delivered a particularly downer talk, he walked up to me afterwards and gave me a hug

But now he's more pessimistic than I am by a substantial margin and I’m not sure how to process that
