Which of these on screen keyboard features would you have expected to be enabled by default in #Phosh (see follow up posts for more details on each feature):
Phosh's on screen keyboard stevia can show a small popover, when pressing a letter. This isn't enabled by default atm:
Stevia can keep the OSKs size constant when changing to higher screen resolutions. It can also add an empty area at the bottom to reduce wrist strain and tilting on taller devices. See this video on #peertube https://peertube.debian.social/w/bt79rAL3oUPJd4KmyTcW2k (or youtube: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PKzHonKjsJg) for details.
All of the above options can be toggled in mobile settings. We mostly want to figure out good defaults for newcomers.
@phosh The worst thing I've experienced with stevia is key modifier experience. The top row is insufficient for all the apps I use. I saw that a request issue for Ctrl and Alt keys was dismissed and only the Shift lock part retained. Good work, otherwise. It's a hallmark of free software to have choices, so nice to see an alternative to Squeekboard.
