Hmm - as a frequent advocate for #Matrix and #Element, this is food for thought: マリウス.com/giving-up-on-element- Sigh. Seems that very few things in the world are as good as they seem, and many things are far less good (especially things built & run by corporations).

To be fair, while I have experienced some of the issues the author has, running a couple Matrix servers (yes, the new Matrix Authentication Service seems inordinately hard to get going, and yes a bunch of things seem half-finished, and yes, nobody likes their threading model, although I haven't heard of any messaging app getting raves in that area), I haven't experienced any of the performance issues or loss of access the author describes, but I mostly use Element in the browser.

@lightweight I've been using Gnome Chatty with Matrix. I also haven't seen many of the issues, but not a heavy user.
