It's blown my mind since Reagan (I was in high school and college) that anybody falls for that privatization crap. Privatization just means someone will try to extract profits from whatever it is. Given the same resources, the same constraints, and the same desired outputs/services, how is extracting profits going to help? Why is extracting profits going to help? Really, WHO is extracting profits going to help.

@pagangod Students at Purdue fell for Mitch Daniels claims that his privatization of services at the public college made for no tuition raises (ignore the new fees for things that were free in prior years).

They also failed to make the connection between the rise of college costs and his stint as advisor to Reagan.

Meanwhile the surrounding community had to pay for the privatization through the decrease in per capita earnings (less tax revenue and more people in need of supports).
