Explain it to me like I'm a techbro:

"I get it. I get that there are people that use LLM-powered software, and I must be clear that anecdotal examples of some people using some software that they kind-of like is not evidence that generative AI is a sustainable or real industry at the trillion-dollar scale that many claim it is.

"I am so very bored of having this conversation, so I am now going to write out some counterpoints so that I don't have to say them again."

@GuerillaOntologist Too bad the guy has only links to big tech social media at the bottom. Maybe he needs to get off of those to preserve his sanity.

@lwriemen @GuerillaOntologist He has a fedi account but hasn’t touched it since 2018. And his last toot is telling about his algo mindset:

»Discoverability on here isn’t as good. I want my big numbers. They’re all that keep me alive....«

I fail to see what the author's social media choices have to do with the analysis presented. And I have never understood the point of hectoring people about using the "bad" (though most popular) social media on the "good" social media site. Like, yeah, I know, that's why I'm here. And if you really care so much about which social media he's using, why not tell HIM about it instead of me, because frankly I find this all pretty tiring. His email address is on his website.
