I think you may be onto something there. Gradual ratcheting up of responsibilities for teachers (with no corresponding increase in compensation) can't have helped either.

@dynamic @ikanreed@mastodon.social Add onto that the remote online aspect that has been poorly rolled out in a hurry, plus all the pre-packaged digital learning. Pressures to teach to standardized testing. In red states in the USA, there's also laws against talking about real life. #DumbAllOver

I wonder how much what the landscape for remote learning technology has changed for high school students over the past year.
Would also be interesting if there were data on engagement levels by state.
