So two weeks in to upgrading all my Neon computers to KDE 6...

Wayland is the default now, and it's mostly fine on everything _except_ my primary laptop. On my primary laptop, it's mostly fine except for games and Obsidian, which is my primary writing app these days. In both those cases there is a persistent flickering that I just can't get rid of.

I suspect this is because my primary laptop has an embedded Nvidia card, while most of my other machines are using AMD cards...

... because these days the open source AMD drivers are really, really good. Nvidia's open source drivers have improved, but they're still not there, and the proprietary drivers work fine in x11 but searches suggest they don't really play with Wayland well at all.

So I'm using x11 on it for now. It's working all right, but the KDE team has made it clear that future releases aren't really aimed at the x11 environment. Hopefully nouveau really ups its game this year.

@ubersoft I haven't seen any issues, so you might want to try the proprietary drivers.

@lwriemen I'm using the proprietary drivers now, but it's the 550 drivers that support wayland and I can't seem to get those to install on KDE Neon so I'm stuck with the 54x drivers
