Tip for FLOSS software devs who want "regular" people to actually use their software
Most people don't know how to use markdown and aren't going to learn. Bragging about NOT having a WYSIWYG editor is a bad look, unless your aim is specifically to reduce your software's usefulness and reach. Because all you're doing is making someone like me have to teach six 65 year olds how to write markdown. I'd rather stick with [shitty corporate but user friendly software] than put myself through that. Thx.

@GuerillaOntologist I could reference Open Office as a corporate alternative, but I find using a WYSIWYM document writer like LyX. I also find LyX to be much more intuitive than using the MS Word-like WYSIWYG tools.
OTOH, I'm only 59 and started using tools like WordStar and Interleaf before MS Word took over due to Microsoft's #anticompetitive #monopoly. :-p

@lwriemen Specifically, I'm looking for a mailchimp replacement and having a hard time finding something even close to as user-friendly. It's one thing for me to learn a new system, but we're an organization, not a me, so I have to think about what is going to be useable for the largest number of people in the group. Everyone already understands Office-style toolbars, with is def not true for Markdown or LyX.
