Ubuntu update system has become quite the messy process -- a hodgepodge of repositories, snaps, flatpaks, etc. that show up in different places.
This used to be easier, and that's not something you can say very often about Linux.

@dangillmor The flatpaks and snaps really chew up disk space, but I guess that's cheap enough now. Ubuntu became too corporate for me, so I went back to Debian. At least with Linux, you have these kind of choices.
There's always the fallback position of OS/2 (now as ArcaOS). ;-)
@lwriemen I haven't worried about disk space in a long time...
