Is anyone familiar with the TESCREAL philosophies popular amongst Silicon Valley elite? I have heard bits of it over the years and it seemed to me a bit troubling, but I lacked a good understanding of it. Trothout has launched a series of podcasts on the topic.Curious where this lands with you. You can read or listen here truthout.org/audio/bizarre-and

Thanks for the feedback everyone. What I am seeing in all the TESCREAL philophies is a balm for the souls and morals of powerful people to feel less guilty about the great harm they do. A narrow interpretation of Benthanism "the greatest good for the greatest number" allows them to find some peace in poor treatment of environment, workers, etc. because surely what they do is creating good for more somewhere sometime. Pretty twisted and based on a shitty definition of compassion

@ByronCinNZ The fact that it's also combined with the pursuit of immortality makes it a grandiose religious delusion. (IANAP, I am not a psychologist/psychiatrist.)

Kind of in line with the observed behavior of the rich people in our society.
